Olivia J. Kozich, 88, Enjoyed Reading Mystery Novels

Photo of Olivia J. Kozich Olivia J. Kozich (nee Musial), 88, of Lorain, passed away Friday April 17, 2009 at the Weslyan Village in Elyria following an extended illness.

Olivia was born Nov. 23, 1920 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain. She was a 1939A graduate of Lorain High School. She and her life-long sweetheart Elmer were married on Valentine’s Day 1942.

Olivia had worked as a sales associate at Woolworth’s, at Western Automatic and at the US Postal Service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lorain. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing cards and flower gardening. She treasured time spent with her husband and family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Elmer Kozich, daughters Sharon Atkinson and husband Mike of Maui, Hawaii and Sandra McKenzie and husband Ken of North Ridgeville, two grandchildren Kimberly Lehr (nee McKenzie) and husband Tim of North Ridgeville and David McKenzie and wife Callie of Lorain, three great grandchildren Matthew Lehr, Jagger McKenzie and Chloe McKenzie and brother Victor Musial and wife Rosemary of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Rose Musial (nee Burdna) and sister Pearl Franz.

The family will receive friends Monday 4 - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Greg Whiting, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Westlake, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
