Mildred A. Lukenic, 80, General Industries Retiree
Mildred A. “Toots” Lukenic, 80, of Elyria, died Sunday April 19, 2009 in the medical intensive care unit at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a sudden illness.She was born Sept. 25, 1928 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria most of her life.
Mildred graduated from Lorain High School and worked at General Industries in Elyria until her retirement. She was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain.
She is survived by her nieces Donna Lawrason of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Debra Deidrick of Las Vegas, Nevada, nephew Gary Deidrick of Willard, cousin and caregiver Cheryl Fallis of Lorain and cousin Geri Paukert of Mentor. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Lukenic, mother Mary Lukenic-Sherman (nee Muc) and sister Eleanor Deidrick.
A funeral mass will be held Friday June 26th at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
