Mildred A. ''Toots'' Lukenic, 80, General Industries Retiree
Mildred A. "Toots" Lukenic, 80, of Elyria, died Sunday April 19, 2009 in the medical intensive care unit at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a sudden illness.She was born September 25, 1928 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria most of her life.
Mildred graduated from Lorain High School and worked at General Industries in Elyria until her retirement. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria.
She is survived by her nieces Donna Lawrason of Rochester Hills, Michigan and Debra Deidrick of Las Vegas, Nevada, nephew Gary Deidrick of Willard and her cousin and caregiver Cheryl Fallis of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Lukenic, mother Mary Lukenic-Sherman (nee Muc) and sister Eleanor Deidrick.
Cremation will take place. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. The ashes will be interred in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
