Casey A. Flores, 32, Possessed Witty Sense of Humor & Beautiful Smile

Photo of Casey A. Flores Carey A. Flores, age 32, of Lorain, died Wednesday April 22, 2009 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Carey was born in Amherst on September 27, 1976 and attended Western Reserve High School.

She was employed as a sales associate for the Home Depot store in Lorain. Previously, she had been employed as a waitress at the Denny’s Restaurant in Amherst as well as a coating specialist for the Industrial Powder Coating Corporation.

Carey lived life to the fullest; she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most of all, her children. She will be remembered for her witty sense of humor and her bright, beautiful smile.

Survivors include daughters Koryn Valliant and Ma’leya Humphrey, son Randal Humphrey, her mother Arlene (nee Simone) West and step-father Danny of Norwalk, brother Ian residing in Pennsylvania, sisters Theresa West of Vermilion and Tiffany West of Norwalk, maternal grandparents Pat and Teresa Simone of Lorain, paternal grandfather Marcello Flores, Sr. of Mexico, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ms. Flores was preceded in death by her father Marcello Flores, Jr., by paternal grandmother Carmen Zaldivar, and niece Angelica Flores.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 26, 2009, from 2-6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Burial will take place later in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the Carey A. Flores Memorial Fund to benefit her children in care of any branch of the Firelands Federal Credit Union.
