Danny R. Halcomb, 60, Cleveland Browns Fan

He was born June 25, 1948 in Fleming-Neon, KY and has been a Vermilion resident since 2004 moving from Amherst.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam.
He worked in the paint department of Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years retiring in 1998. He had also at one time been co-owner of Mary's Bird World, Amherst.
He was a member of the Local 425 Union, former member of the Vermilion American Legion and current member of the New London American Legion. He was known for his strong character, beautiful smile, and wonderful yet twisted sense of humor. He never took life too serious, enjoying gambling, casinos, camping, fishing and the Cleveland Browns.
Survivors include his sister, Sylvia (Doug) Johnson of Vermilion; brother, Edward (Patsy) Holcomb of Vermilion; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Eliza (nee Yonts) Holcomb and an infant daughter in 1967.
Friends may call Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. -9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at the Riddle Funeral Home, Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Gerhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion, where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
