Carl Y. Vasiloff, 79, Enjoyed Golf and Fishing

He was born July 11, 1929 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Carl was a graduate of Lorain High School class of 1947B. He served with the Ohio National Guard with the rank of corporal from 1948-1951.
He worked at Bendix in Elyria as an engineer for 24 years retiring in 1990.
Carl was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and golf and played in the Bendix Retiree’s Golf League. He and his wife Helen bowled in the Kings and Queens Bowling League at Rebman Recreation.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Helen C. Vasiloff (nee Toth), children Donna Marie of Lorain and Ernest J. Vasiloff (Maryanne nee Muzio) of Lexington, KY and grandchildren Kristen and Brian Vasiloff of Lexington, KY and Brother-in-law Joseph Kovacs of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Dana Vasiloff (nee Melloff) and sister Fanny Kovacs in 2006.
The family will receive friends Friday 4 - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
