Lorraine E. Eberle, 88, Enjoyed Quilting

She was born in Lorain on May 2, 1921 and spent most of her life living in Vermilion. She was a graduate of Vermilion High School as a member of the class of 1940.
Mrs. Eberle was employed by the City of Vermilion Police Department for 20 years as a dispatcher.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Madeline Chapter 204, Vermilion Police Association, Amvets Post #22, and American Legion Post #397 Auxiliaries. She enjoyed quilting, her many friends, shopping and volunteering for her veteran organizations. She especially enjoyed going to lunch with "the girls".
She is survived by her daughter, Candy Weber of Vermilion; son, Rick Eberle of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren, Amy, Ric, Ryan and Dan; 4 great-grandchildren, Josh, Cole, Riley and Brianna; sisters Joan Fisher of Vermilion, Gertrude Allen of Vermilion, and Dess Kawasaki of Lawton, Nevada; brothers, Peter Nickley of San Diego, and Gene Nickley of Vermilion.
She was preceded-in-death by her husband, Russell in 1991, parents, Peter and Florence (nee Barris) Nickley, sisters, Mickey and Sue and brother, Alfred.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
