Cecelia M. Gordon, 89, Enjoyed Growing Roses and Violets

She was born July 5, 1919 in Buffalo, New York and had resided in the Lorain area since 1958.

Cecelia was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Rosary-Guild. She enjoyed growing roses and violets, cooking, baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cecelia kept her family close and observed many ethnic traditions during the holidays.

She is survived by her son David Gordon (Peggy) and daughter Kathleen Turinsky (Francis), all of Lorain, grandchildren, Scott, Michele, Christine, Lori and John and great grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Jeffrey, Lauren, Matthew and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter F. Gordon in 1982, parents Anthony and Alice Buszka (nee Wisnieski) and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Monday 4p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the St. Stanislaus Rosary-Guild will recite the rosary Monday at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. David A. Novak, parish administrator, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
