Joan M. Leyshon, 82, Former Lorain County Board of Elections Employee

Photo of Joan M. Leyshon Joan M. Leyshon, 82, (nee Sheridan) of Lorain died Tuesday evening, May 19, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.

Mrs. Leyshon was born in Lorain on September 9, 1926. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1944.

She retired in 1992 after many years service in the Lorain County Board of Elections, including a term as Director. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star-Madeleine Chapter # 204.

Mrs. Leyshon is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harvey R. Leyshon, daughter Cheri L. (Michael) Humphrey of Boise, ID, grandson Sean Humphrey, sister Wanda Schooley of Lorain, brothers Dean Cecil of Vermilion. and Jay Cecil of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death her father Dale Sheridan, her mother Ruth (nee Fitzgerald) Sheridan Cecil, her step father Lyle Cecil and step mother Phoebe Sheridan.

In keeping with Mrs. Leyshon's wishes, there will be no visitation or public services.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 43099 North Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
