Thomas G. Heider, 62, Enjoyed Playing Golf

Photo of Thomas G. Heider Thomas G. Heider, 62, of Lorain, died suddenly on Saturday May 30, 2009 in the emergency room at Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain.

He was born July 20, 1946 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Tom graduated from Admiral King High School in Lorain in 1964 and then served with the US Army in Vietnam.

He worked at Community Health Partners Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain as the Environmental Manager for over 37 years retiring in July 2008.

Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed taking long drives with his family and taking his grandchildren for walks in the park and to the lake to skip rocks. He enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Renee (nee Warner), son Thomas W. Heider (JoEllen), daughter Nicole Klamer (Walter), grandchildren Alexis Heider, Thomas M. Heider, Nathan Klamer, Logan Klamer, Conrad Klamer and Ale Klamer, mother Elizabeth Heider (nee Kosakowski), brother William G. Heider (Patricia) and sister Alice Kinney (Raymond), all of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father William Heider in 1986.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Dybo, deacon, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where VFW #451 and American Legion #30 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
