Gary L. Mezlak, 61, Enjoyed Fishing & Spending Time Outdoors
Gary L. Mezlak, age 61, of Lorain, died Monday June 1st, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following an extended illness.
Mr. Mezlak was born in Berea, Ohio on Dec. 7, 1947 and had been a resident of Lorain County for most of his life.
Gary was a graduate of Elyria High School. A parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, he was most recently employed as a maintenance coordinator at the Catholic Church of Saint Peter complex in Lorain. He had previously been employed as a supervisor for the Martin J. Tobin Company of North Ridgeville.
In his free time Gary enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Additional interests included bowling, league golf, playing cards, and animals.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years Mary (nee Brosky), sons Christopher of Dallas, Texas and Nicholas of Lorain, sisters Judith Mezlak of Lorain, Janice McGillivray (husband Ron) of Lorain, and Ruth Ann Hyde (husband Cliff) of Painesville, brothers Richard and Frank (wife Kim) Mezlak both of Lorain, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank & Eileen (nee Coe) Mezlak, by his brother Larry, by his maternal grandparents Leon and Viola Coe, and by paternal grandparents Stefan and Catherine Mezlak.
Please join Gary’s family for the celebration of his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday June 5th. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend David A. Novak, Parish Administrator will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
