Michael T. Glass, 56, Ohio Metallurgical Services Machinist

Photo of Michael T. Glass Michael T. Glass, age 56, of Sheffield Township, died Monday June 29th, 2009 at University Hospitals of Cleveland following a brief illness.

He was born in Lorain on May 2, 1953 and was a 1971 graduate of Clearview High School.

Mr. Glass was currently employed as a machinist for Ohio Metallurgical Services in Elyria; he had previously served as an instrumentation mechanic for the Tampa Electric Company while a residing in Florida.

In his free time he enjoyed photography and the outdoors.

Survivors include his daughter Melissa D. Glass of Gainesville, Florida, his mother Helen Glass (nee DeCarlo) of Sheffield Township, sister Penny Lotko (husband Edward) of Sheffield Lake, brothers Dennis Findley (wife Judy) of Vermilion, Charles Glass (wife Linda) of Sheffield Township, and Richard Glass (wife Sharon) of Henrietta Township., along with a variety of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Glass in 1995.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 noon in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Carl Richter, pastor of the First Congregational Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial services for the family will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to the Melissa D. Glass Educational Fund in care of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, OH 44055-1299.
