Melvin N. Remaklus, 90, St. Peter's Choir Member

He was born in Lorain on January 30, 1919 and was a graduate of Lorain High School.
Mr. Remaklus was employed as a machinist for the American Crucible Company of Lorain from which he retired in 1975.
He was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter. Mel was a talented vocalist and served as a proud member of the St. Peter Choir and was a former member of the St. Joseph (Lorain) Church Choir.
In his earlier years he enjoyed playing softball in the Lorain City League. A social member of Post # 1 of the Italian American Veterans, he was an avid fan of both the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers professional sports franchises.
He is survived by sons Ronald (wife Patricia) of Lorain, Dale (wife Ellen) of Amherst, and Joe (wife Valerie) of Wellington, by grandchildren Cheryl Desko, Krisite Corlett, Scott Remaklus, Brian Remaklus, Mike Remaklus, Mark Remaklus, Rachael Wagner, and Nicole Wagner, and by great grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Abigail, Jenny, and Stetson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sadie (nee Grandini) in 2004, by his parents Nicholas and Cecelia (nee Barnes), and his sister Dolores Jakubowski.
Please join the family for the celebration of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 9th in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue. The Reverend Gerald J. Keller, Pastor Emeritus of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, and nephew of Mr. Remaklus, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions to the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, OH 44053.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
