Mary Toth, 93, Enjoyed Volunteer Work

Mary Toth, (nee Sekelsky), age 93, of Lorain, died Friday July 10th at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.

Mary was born in Clymer, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1915 and had been a resident of Lorain since her childhood.

Mrs. Toth was formerly active in politics at the national, state, and local levels; in her free time she enjoyed volunteer work and devoted countless hours toward community enrichment.

She is survived by her daughter Christine Sumner of Estelline, South Dakota, by her granddaughter Candi Sumner also of Estelline, by great grandchildren Jordan, Madissan, and Logan Ekeran, by her sister Grace I. Vakerics of Upland, California, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gabor Toth, Jr., by her parents Joseph and Veronica (nee Perhach) Sekelsky, by brother Ervin and Edward, and by sisters Margaret Fowler and Christine Sekelsky.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 15th from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral services at 1:30 in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Jimmy W. Madsen and the Reverend Virginia Kaada will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
