Rafael ''Ray'' Marquez, 57, Enjoyed Playing Pool

He was born May 24, 1952 in Lorain and was a life long resident. Ray graduated from Admiral King High School, Lorain in 1971.

Ray retired in 1999 from the rolling mill at USX / Kolbe Steel in Lorain. He worked there for 27 years. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 1104, Lorain. Ray enjoyed playing pool and participated in tournaments. He also enjoyed puzzles, drawing, his computer and yard.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 28 years Carmen Marquez (nee Padua), son Ruben Marquez of Lorain; daughters Evelyn Marquez and Estrella "Star" Diaz both of Lorain, his parents Nicolas and Julia (nee Cayere) Marquez of Tampa, Florida, brother Nick Marquez of Lorain, sister Norma Natal of Tampa, and grandchildren Carlos and Jesi Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Isabelo Cayere and Josefina Rodriguez.

His family will receive friends Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 4 to 8 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277 8164. His funeral service will be Friday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
