Epifanio ''Cuchie'' Cruz, 58, Avid Fisherman
Epifanio "Cuchie" Cruz, 58 of Lorain died July 19, 2009 in Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born April 7, 1951 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain as a child.
Mr. Cruz worked for Robinson Pipe Service in Lorain. He enjoyed playing pool, cooking, and was an avid fisherman. Cuchie loved his family.
Among the survivors are his sons Johnny Engler, Sammy Salisbury and Raymond McKissick all of Lorain; daughters April Smith and Lisa Salisbury both of Lorain; his father Mariano Cruz Gutierrez of Lorain; bothers Guadalupe "Lupe" Villegas of Saginaw, Michigan, Luis "Marin" Cruz, Jose "Quique" Gutierrez, Alberto "Cookie" Gutierrez all of Lorain; sisters Ignacia "Ana" Cruz, Juanita Gutierrez Davis and Cristela "Cuca" Gutierrez all of Lorain; niece Maria L. "Nini" Cruz of Lorain, nine grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Isabel Villegas; brother Edwin Gutierrez and a sister Bienvenida Rosario.
His family will receive friends Friday, from 4 to 8 PM in Sacred Heart Chapel 4301, Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Where Rev. Father Charles W. Bisgrove S. C. J. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin will officiate mass of Christian burial Saturday at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
