Nora E. Scarvelli, 75, Inducted Into Lorain Women's Bowling Association Hall Of Fame
Nora E. Scarvelli (nee Litz), age 75 of Sheffield Lake, died Monday July 27th at EMH Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Scarvelli was born in Elyria on Jan. 10, 1934 and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past 47 years. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Nora participated extensively in league bowling competition at a variety of establishments throughout the area. She was a member of the Lorain Women’s Bowling Association and was inducted into that organization’s Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in the sport.
When she was not bowling, Mrs. Scarvelli enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years John J. Scarvelli, Sr. by sons John, Jr., Jim, and Tim all of Lorain, Dan if Elyria Township, Kurt of Sheffield Lake, and Dave of Vermilion, by daughters Betty of Lorain and Diane of Elyria, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Rose Marie, by her parents John and Martha Litz, and by brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery with the Reverend Stephen Shields, Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake presiding.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
