Rev. Glen G. Ball, 79, Co-founder of Jesus the Way Prison Ministry
Rev. Glen G. Ball, 79, of Lorain, died Wednesday Aug. 5, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Aug. 7, 1929 in Newport, Tennessee and had resided in Lorain since 1953.
Glen worked at the Ford Assembly Plant in Lorain as a relief man for 30 years retiring in 1989.
Glen was the co-founder of Jesus the Way Prison Ministry where he preached in different prisons throughout Lorain County and Ohio. He was a member of Broadway Assembly Church in Sheffield Township.
He is survived by his children, Creta Costello (Tony) of Lorain, Terry Ball (Pam) of Newport, TN, Kathy Zicafoose (Lee) of Scottsdale, AZ, Glesma Banks (Scott) of Newport, TN, Greg Ball (Bobbie) of Naples, FL, Deborah Ball of Lorain and Gary Ball of Louisville, KY, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and sister Bobbie Jean Freeman (John) of Morganton, NC.
He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Ball (nee Newsome) in 2004.
The family will receive friends Friday 6 - 8 p.m. at the Christian Life Church, 3559 W. Erie Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Wallace Justice and the Rev. James Justice will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
