Rita L. Mangus, 85, Enjoyed Reading and Gardening
Rita L. Mangus (nee Duffy), 85 of Vermilion, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at Kingston of Vermilion.
She was born Feb. 6, 1924 in Alliance and lived in Vermilion since 1964 moving from Sandusky.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational where she was a member of Marmaru and Adah Circles. She enjoyed her church, her church friends, reading, gardening and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Schuck of Vermilion; son, Patrick (Laurie) Mangus of Vermilion; grandchildren, Tracy (Steve) Adair, Michael Schuck, Bryan (Beth) Pazder, Molly (Ernie) Welch, Matthew Schuck, Mark Schuck, Brooke Mangus and Megan Geary; great grandchildren, Ryan and Chloe Adair , Trinity Welch and Lauryn Pazder; and brother, Paul Duffy.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Warren E. Mangus, 2000, parents, James L. and Zita B. (nee Gossman) Duffy, daughter, Pamela Stetz, 1983, sisters, Mary Meyers, Helen Tangi, Lucille Karper, Wilma McGrath; brothers, Edmond, Clarence, James, John and David Duffy.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Wendell Brooker will officiate.
