Louis W. Wilson, 77, Enjoyed Watching Sporting Events

Louis W. Wilson, 77, of Vermilion, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at his home, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 14, 1932 in Dayton, was raised in Dayton and moved to Vermilion in 1968.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1950-1953.

He worked in sales for Independence Insurance Co. retiring in 2005. He enjoyed watching sporting events, especially Notre Dame.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia (nee Ruggles); 4 sons, Mark (Jeri) Wilson, Dayton, Mike (Debra) Wilson of Vermilion, Patrick Wilson of Phoenix, AZ and Chuck (Jody) Wilson of Huron; 3 daughters, GeGe Roskilly of Kingman, AZ, Kitty (Steven) Smith of Sandusky, and LuAnn (Joseph) Cantrell of Dayton; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, John F. Wilson of Dayton, and sisters, Phyllis Battigaglia of Fresno, CA, LaVerne E. Rees of Dayton, and Patricia H. Sanders of Dayton.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lucian E. and Mary E. (nee Moran) Wilson; brother, Edgar Wilson; and sister, Mary E. Synkowski.
A private family gathering will celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers his family requests donations be made to the charity of the donors choice.
