Frank Przybylowicz, 89, Avid Ohio State Fan
Frank Przybylowicz, 89, of Lorain, died Wednesday Sept. 2, 2009 at his home in Independence Village in Avon Lake.He was born Aug. 20, 1920 in Lansing, Ohio and had resided in Lorain since 1946. He had moved to Independence Village in Avon Lake one month ago.
Frank served with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Montana and Ohio. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and served in ETO-Africa and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
Frank worked at US Steel in Lorain as a Shipping Clerk for 35 years before retiring. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
He is survived by his son William Przybylowicz (Barb) of Amherst and granddaughters Ashley Przybylowicz and Hilary Hoak.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rosalla (nee Hartley) in 1990, parents Valenty & Blanche Przybylowicz (nee Zebracka), sisters Amelia Merrilli and Mary Clark and brother Joseph Przybylowicz.
The family will receive friends Friday 5 - 9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. James Ols, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Twp., presiding. Entombment will follow in Freedom Chapel at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
