Mildred Oestreicher, 83, Enjoyed Traveling & Playing Bingo

Photo of Mildred  Oestreicher Mildred Oestreicher (nee Workovich), 83 of Lorain passed away Friday, Oct. 02, 2009 in Avon Oaks Caring Community, Avon following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 14, 1926 in Morgantown, West Virginia. She moved to South Amherst then to Lorain in the mid 1930’s. During World War II she worked for the National Tube Company and then Thew Shovel Co. both in Lorain.

Mrs. Oestreicher was a former member of Saint John United Church of Christ, Lorain. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and riding her bicycle. She loved her children and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by her sons David Oestreicher of Lorain and Danny Oestreicher of Vermilion, daughters Donna (Ed) Torres of Roy Washington and Lisa (Calvin) Collett of Lorain, Grandchildren, Eric Cuevas of Elyria, Angela Rector and Paul Torres both of Washington, Shelby, Timmy, Elizabeth, Karolina, and George Oestreicher all of Vermilion and Keleigh Corrigan of North Olmsted, Great Grandchildren Maddie Corrigan of North Olmsted and Sophia Rector of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years Carl Oestreicher in 1984, her parents George and Mary (nee Mudrovich) Workovich; brothers Pete, Nick, Mike and Louie Workovich and Fred Walker; sisters Mary Abbott and Donna Denhame.

Her family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277 8164. Where her funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Reverend Richard C. White,, pastor of New Haven Baptist Church, Sheffield Village will officiate. Burial will follow Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
