Wanda D. Whitaker, 70, Enjoyed Jigsaw Puzzles

Photo of Wanda D. Whitaker Wanda D. Whitaker, 70, (nee McCormick) died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Campus, Elyria following a long illness.

Mrs. Whitaker was born in Charleston, WV on March 3, 1939, the daughter of the late John McCormick and the late Zelda D. (nee Bowen) McCormick Saladin. She was a homemaker.

She has lived in the Lorain county area for more than 55 years and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, maze games, and loved playing with a play station II.

Mrs. Whitaker is survived by a daughter(s): Tracey L. Hubbard, sons Keith A. Whitaker, Larry W. McCoy all of Lorain, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a brother Jeffrey McCormick also of Lorain.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harry B. Whitaker in 1994, daughters, Kathleen Jackson, Amanda Whitaker, Debra Whitaker, and a brother Kenneth McCormick.

Friends may call Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. funeral service in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Rev. Howard Carroll, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, officiating.

Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the family at the funeral home.
