Georgino Melendez, 62, Enjoyed Helping his Neighbors

He was born Sept. 11, 1947 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain in 2000.

Mr. Melendez was a radio announcer in Ponce and for La Onda Cultural Latina in Lorain. He enjoyed working on his car and in his garden and helping his neighbors.

He will be deeply missed by his son Jorge L. Melendez of Lorain, daughter Marilyn Melendez of Lorain; his grandchildren Isahias Y. Ortiz and Milayshia M. Brenes both of Lorain; his sisters Migdalia and Angie Melendez both of Ponce and Yolanda and Nolly Melendez both of Brooklyn, New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gergino and Angela (nee Martinez) Melendez

His family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Burial will be in Puerto Rico.
