Janet N. Carroll, 59, Bartender

She was born March 5, 1950 in Lorain, moved to Elyria in 1979 then to Ana Maria, Florida in 1981. Janet returned to Lorain in 1983 she lived here for 25 year before moving to Avon in 2008.

Janet was a driver for S.B.S. Transit for five years, and then in 1989 she was a dispatcher for Lorain County Transit until 1993. She also worked as a bartender for several Lorain bars including the Cavalier Club, Dale's Sports Bar, Jagged Edge, Good Time Charlie's, Pearl Gate, Montezuma Lounge and Crystal Rock until 2005, and worked a caster at Catania Metallic Specialties in Avon until April of this year. She was a member of the Misfits Dart Team and enjoyed Cleveland sports teams, particularly the Browns. Janet loved her family especially her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her sons James W. (Heather Whipkey) Berens of Bay Village and Jason A. Carroll of Avon; a sister Linda Spain of Glouster, Ohio; grandchildren Alex and Kateland Nalelitz of Avon, Connor and Cheyenne Berens of Bay Village, Madison of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents William J. and Charlotte W. (nee Smith) Berens; a sister Charlotte "Chucky" Berens.

Her family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Where the Reverend Charles Behrens, Chaplin of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate her funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, in Amherst Township.
