Mason C. Turner, 86, Former York International Employee

Mason C. Turner, 86, of Elyria passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a long illness.

Mr. Turner was born in Reedsville, WV on Sept. 25, 1923, the son of the late Ray J. and Carrie B. (nee Keefover) Turner.

He was a graduate of Masontown High School in Masonville, West Virginia. He was a retired tow motor on the receiving dock at the former York International in Elyria, after 25 years.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 63 years Rosella "Dutch" (nee Fields) Turner, daughter Irma J. (David) Seckt of Elyria, Carol M (Edwin) Rivera of Groveland, FL, son Donald R. Turner of Elyria, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchildren, sisters Leah Stone of Blacklick, PA., Dorthy Gibson of Baltimore, MD., Jane Smith of Indendence, WV., brothers Leslie Turner of Independence, WV., Kermit Turner of Homer City, PA., and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jennifer, sister Gladys Sapp, brothers Bernard Turner and Frank Turner.

Friends may call on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Funeral Services will be in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, with Rev. James Cake, officiating.

Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township.
