Ann M. Palinski, 86, Enjoyed Spending Time with her Family
Ann M. Palinski (nee Knezetic), age 86, of Lorain, died peacefully Saturday Oct. 31st at the Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Ann was born in Lorain on Dec. 1, 1922 and was a life-long resident of the city, She was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the Class of 1941-B.
Mrs. Palinski was employed as a cashier for various food markets throughout the area including Fisher Foods and the Lawson’s/Dairy Mart Store located on the southwest corner of East 28th Street and Broadway Avenue.
She was a devoted member of the former Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church where she was active with the Altar and Rosary Society; she was also a long-time member of the Croatian Fraternal Society Lodge #136.
She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ann leaves to cherish her precious memory her sons Donald (wife Patricia) of Wakeman, and William (wife Barbara) of Lorain, grandchildren Jeremy Streem (wife Stephanie), along with Timothy and Amy Palinski, and great granddaughter Laine Anne Streem.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Basil who passed away on June 15th of this year, by her father Joseph in 1933, by her mother Barbara (nee Michalic) in 1991, by her brother Joseph in 2002, along with one brother in infancy.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Avenue. The Reverend James R. Becherer will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
