Charles S. Whitlock, 48, Enjoyed Sports

Photo of Charles S.  Whitlock Charles S. “Chuck” Whitlock, 48, formerly of Lorain, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 in Saint Vincent Charity Hospital, Cleveland, following a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 29, 1961 in Lorain. He lived here until moving to Cleveland last year.

Chuck worked as a concrete finisher. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard. He also belonged to the Alcoholics Anonymous. Chuck enjoyed sports. He played softball and golf.

Among the survivors are his daughter Lynette Pennington of Virginia; brother Mike Whitlock of Lorain; sisters Helen Whitlock of Lorain, Mona Lisa DelValle of Arizona and Brenda Marie DelValle of Florida; one grandson, five nephews and three nieces.

His parents Mary and Paris Hunt preceded him in death.

His family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. His funeral service will be in the funeral home, Thursday at 10 p.m. Rev. Chuck Behrens, chaplain of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
