Clarice E. Long, 87, Mascon Toy Company Assembler

Photo of Clarice E. Long Clarice E. Long (nee Birkline), age 87, of Amherst, died Sunday Nov. 8th at the Amherst Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Long was born in Lorain on May 11, 1922 and had been a resident of Amherst since 1975.

Clarice attended the Clearview Schools and went on to work as an assembler for the Mascon Toy Company of Lorain; she had also been employed as an associate with the Smith and Gerhart Department Store.

Mrs. Long was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church who enjoyed needlework in her free time. She formerly enjoyed motorcycle riding with her late husband, Donald who passed away in 1978.

Survivors include two sons, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Ann Lovette in 1984, by her son Kenneth, and by her parents Clarence and Grace (nee Moore) Birkline.

Visitation will be Monday November 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Jack R. Ison, Pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
