Terry Edwards, 54, Enjoyed Fishing and Sports
Terry Edwards, 54, of Lorain, died Friday Nov. 20, 2009 at his home after a long illness.He was born Feb. 27, 1955 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Terry graduated from St. Anthony School and was a 1973 graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain where he was on the wrestling team.
For the past ten years Terry worked at Oberlin College in the Facilities Department. Prior to that he owned and operated Terry’s Carpet Cleaning in the Lorain area and had also worked at US Steel in Lorain and at his father’s auto service station.
Terry was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the American Slovak Club and the American Legion #30, all of Lorain. He enjoyed fishing, sports and working. He was a very kind hearted and generous person who made friends easily and was a best friend to many.
He is survived by his brothers Jack Edwards, Jr (Joann) of Victoria, Texas, and Robert Cecil Edwards (Bonnie) of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, sisters Kathy Redman of Lorain and Nancy Edwards of Houston, Texas and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack & Anitha Edwards (nee Stauder) and brother James Edwards, Sr in 2002.
The family will receive friends Friday 5-9 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where a memorial service will be held Friday at 8:20 pm. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, OFM Conv, associate pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain will officiate. Private family burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
