Alberto Gutierrez, 47, Enjoyed Playing Softball

He was born Jan. 29, 1962 in Lorain and was a life long resident, with the exception of living in Puerto Rico from 1977 to 1979.

Mr. Gutierrez worked as a handy man and in construction. He attended Principe De Paz Hispanic Lutheran Church, Lorain. Cookie enjoyed playing softball, cooking, Salsa and Country music. He was very kind man, with a great sense of humor.

He is survived by a son Alberto C. Gutierrez of Oberlin, daughter Tatyana O. Gutierrez of Oberlin; his father Mariano Cruz Gutierrez of Lorain; bothers Guadalupe “Lupe” Villegas of Saginaw, Michigan, Luis “Marin” Cruz and Jose “Quique” Gutierrez, both of Lorain; sisters Ignacia “Ana" Cruz, Juanita Gutierrez Davis and Cristela “Cuca” Gutierrez all of Lorain, and his niece and best friend Bienvenida "Bennie" Dominguez of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his mother Isabel Villegas; brother Epifanio “Cuchie” Cruz in July this year, and other brothers and sisters.

His family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Principe De Paz Hispanic Lutheran Church, East 31 and Vine Avenue, Lorain, where his funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. Rev. Von Berlin pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Elyria will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
