Thomas W. Toole, 93, Enjoyed Playing his Accordions

Thomas W. Toole, 93, of Elyria died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at New Life Hospice in Lorain following a long illness.

Mr. Toole was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Lancashire, England to the late Thomas Patrick and Martha (nee Unsworth) Toole.

He moved to Vermilion and graduated from Vermilion High School. Following graduation, he returned to live in England and was called up to the British Army and served under General Montgomery in The Royal Horse Artillery Unit of World War II.

Mr. Toole then returned to the United States and became a United States Citizen.

His greatest joy was playing one of his three accordions in British pubs and locally in the States, with a small musical group. After his marriage, he and his wife traveled extensively, and most of his adult life was lived in Elyria Township.

Mr. Toole retired from the Pfaudler Co. in Elyria; he was a member of St. John’s United Church Of Christ.in Lorain.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Geraldine Toole (nee Peters) on February 21, 1993; brother Robert Toole and sister Marjorie Zaccaria.

He is survived by brother-in-law Dale and (Louis) Meredith and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 19th , 2009, from 10 a.m. to until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with the Rev. Phil Kunz, pastorof St. John’s United Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Gardens in Avon, Ohio.
