Edna E. Benner, 94, Lifetime Member of the National Button Society

Edna E. Benner, 94, (nee Montgomery) of Lorain died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Amherst Manor Retirement Center in Amherst following a long illness.

Mrs. Benner was born in Carthage, IL on February 7, 1915, the daughter of the late Edward E and Orpha F (nee Boston) Montgomery. She has lived in the Lorain area since 1949. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Benner was a small press operator for the former McCann Printing Company. She also had worked as a book gatherer at Hancock County Journal, Carthage, IL.

She is a lifetime member of the National Button Society and a charter member on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Carthage, IL.

Mrs. Benner is survived by her daughter Mary Frances Konnerth of Lorain, a granddaughter Debra Konnerth also of Lorain, 4 step grandchildren, 3
great grandchildren, and a sister Edith Young of Carthage, IL.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Benner was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1971, sisters Helen Barklay, Ruth Tadlock, Mary James,
brothers Thomas Montgomery, Joseph Montgomery, and Archie Montgomery.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street,
Lorain.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the funeral home with Rev. Evelyn Bonnell officiating.

Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township, OH.
