Lois Lorainne Krieger, 86, Enjoyed being the ''Camera Lady''

Photo of Lois Lorainne Krieger Lois Lorainne Krieger nee Young, age 86 of Lorain died Friday January 7, 2011 in Amherst Manor Nursing Home.

Born September 19, 1924 in Lorain, she was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Krieger was a 1942-B graduate of Lorain High School.

She was employed by US Steel for five years during the WW2 as a keypunch operator in tabulating. When the mill had there 100th anniversary, Lois won the contest for having more than 98 continuous and over 1100 combined years of family service.

Lois volunteered at Lakeview Elementary School as a room mother and the school historian between 1954 thru 1968.

Mrs. Krieger enjoyed roller-skating, writing letters and being the "camera lady" because she took so many pictures.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for over 60 years, participating in their Mother's Club, Ladies Aide and Vacation Bible School. Her picture of the ground breaking in 1968 of Zion Lutheran Church is in it's cornerstone.

Mrs. Krieger is survived by children Kenneth Krieger of Cincinnati, Linda Worden of Lorain, and Jill Yepko of Oberlin, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister Mable Streat of Vermilion.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years George Krieger in 1998, parents John and Matilda Young, brothers Robert (Buddy) and Wesley Young, and sisters Doris Coleman and Marian Hollingsworth.

Friends may call Monday January 10, 2011 from 11 AM till time of funeral service at 1 PM in Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Rev. Kevin Saylor, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
