Eleanor Nandori, 82, Former Nurse's Aide at Amherst Manor

Eleanor Nandori (nee Recznik), age 82, of Lorain, died Monday Jan. 11th, 2009 at her residence following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Nandori was born in Lorain on Jan. 1, 1928 and had been a life-long resident of the city; she was a graduate of Lorain High School.

For a number of years Eleanor served as a nurse’s aide at Amherst Manor Nursing Home. She had previously been employed as a production assistant for General Industries in Elyria.

Known best for her deep faith, she was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter. Her hobbies included league bowling and animals with a special interest in dogs.

Mrs. Nandori is survived by her husband of 62 years Frank, by her brother John Recznik of Kent, and by sisters Rose Zahratka, Maryann Mlakar, and Sally DeLuca all of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (nee Gildien) Recznik, and by her brother Edward Recznik

A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted for the family on Saturday in the Catholic Church of St. Peter with the Reverend Craig Hovanec, Pastor of the parish presiding. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
