Louise T. Forristall, 87, Enjoyed Reading & Gardening

Louise T. Forristall (nee Mahan), 87, of Lorain, died Monday January 11, 2010 at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.

She was born March 29, 1922 in Somerville, Massachusetts and had resided in Lorain since 1958 moving from Massachusetts.

While living in Boston, Massachusetts, Louise worked for General Electric as a secretary.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Marian Guild and Paduan Travelers. She volunteered in the church kitchen helping with spaghetti dinners and pierogie sales. At St. Anthony School, Louise help start the library and volunteered there regularly. She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Gargalianos (Angelo) of Lorain and grandsons Matthew Gargalianos of Lorain and Justin Gargalianos (Tana) of Lakewood. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Forristall in 1986, parents Thomas and Anna Mahan (nee Tighe) and several sisters and brothers.

A private family funeral mass was held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West OFM Conv, pastor, officiated. Burial followed in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
