Stella A. Mihalic, 85, Enjoyed Attending her Grandchildren�s Sporting Events

She was born in Lorain on July 26th, 1924 and had been a life-long resident of the area.

Stella studied at St. Stanislaus Parish School and later attended Clearview High School. For more than fifteen years she had been employed as a cook for the Lorain Party Center. She had previously been employed by the General Industries Corporation and United States Steel.

Mrs. Mihalic was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was a life member of both the United Polish Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Mullen-Murray VFW Post # 451.

She enjoyed spending her free time attending her grandchildren’s numerous sporting events and supporting their accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Anthony I. Mihalic, by her sons Anthony S., Gerald, and Steven (wife Elizabeth “Beth Ann”) all of Lorain, daughter Diane Schuster (husband Bret) also of Lorain, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, by sisters Elizabeth Heider, Helen Olexa, and Theresa Tomaszewski all of Lorain, and by her brother John B. Kosakowski also of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanislaus and Sophia (nee Konko) Kosakowski, by brothers Carl, Phillip, and John V. Kosakowski, and by sisters Frances “Fritz” Kovach and Mary Ann Jessel.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria Township. The Reverend James Ols, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
