Agnes E. Toth, 79, Talented Seamstress

Photo of Agnes E. Toth Agnes E. “Beth” Toth, (nee Wayda), age 79, of Lorain, died Tuesday Feb. 23rd, 2010 at her residence.

She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 2, 1930 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1956 coming from Dunneville, Ontario. While residing in Canada, Beth was employed as a secretary for Canadian Canners. She was granted her United Sates Citizenship during ceremonies conducted on April 18, 1969.

Mrs. Toth was long-time volunteer and Presiding Judge for the Lorain County Board of Elections.

She was a past parishioner of St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain and was currently a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township.

Beth was a talented seamstress who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Additional interest included flower gardening and working with all types of crafts.

She is survived by her husband of more than fifty years Richard W. Toth, son Michael W. Toth (wife Mary Beth) of Sheffield Lake, daughter Laura Lynn Petro (husband Joseph) residing in Parma, and by grandsons Jared J. Petro and Samuel M. Toth.

She was preceded in death by her father Michael Wayda, by a sister Rosemary Stenberg, and by brothers George and John B. Wayda.

Visitation will be Friday Feb. 26th, 2010 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain where the Golden Crescent Chorus will conduct a brief choral presentation at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Reverend James Ols, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
