Katherine D. Gochnour, 93, Enjoyed Listening to Music

Born Jan. 24, 1917 in Lorain, Mrs. Gochnour was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Lorain High School class of 1935A, and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Lorain.

Mrs. Gochnour enjoyed listening to music, collecting bears, and most of all, life to her revolved around her family.

She is survived by daughters Dianne (Robert) LaPrete of Renton WA, Corinne Woltman of South Amherst, Eileen (Raymond) Grunau of Elyria, and Mary Ellen (Richard) Aimes of Las Vegas. Grandchildren Molly Wolf, Daniel Woltman, Nancy Mains, James Steigerwald, David LaPrete, Katy Hines, Andrew LaPrete, and Frank Steigerwald, and great-grandchildren Alex and Cameron Mains, Otto and Simon LaPrete, Jack and Sam Wolf, Benjamin Woltman, Madeleine Hines, Christopher, Alyssa, and Ian Steigerwald.

Mrs. Gochnour was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1982, her parents Frank and Clara (Shafer) Heron, a brother Earl Heron, and a sister Elsie Rollason.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Christian Wake service will be at 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday March 4, 2010 beginning with prayers in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Lorain. Fr. Daniel Divis and Deacon Lou Maldonado will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations if desired may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
