John Jenkins, 82, Engineer at the Former Nelson Stud Welding

John "Cal" Jenkins, 82, of Sheffield Village passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a long illness.

Mr. Jenkins was born in Lorain on Oct. 18, 1927, the son of the late John Decker and Gladys (nee Shirley) Jenkins. He was a graduate of Lorain High School class of 1945B. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II era.

He was a member of Avon United Methodist Church in Avon.

Mr. Jenkins was an engineer at the former Nelson Stud Welding (now TRW) in Lorain with 43 years service.

He was a member of Lorain Rotary, since 1961 and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed golfing.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna (nee Irish) Jenkins, a daughter Deborah A (Karl) Stelzer of Pensacola, FL, sons Mark A (Martha) Jenkins of Kirkland, WA, Scott J (Sandy) Jenkins of North Olmsted, Keith I (Terri) Jenkins of North Ridgeville, Jeff D (Naela) Jenkins of Ann Arbor, MI., 13 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Wesleyan Village, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio 44035, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010 with Chaplain Beth McKee, officiating.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Senior Living Foundation, 807 West Ave., Elyria, Ohio 44035 or Donor's Choice.
