Alice Marie Brailer, 75, Loved to Travel
Alice Marie Brailer (nee Barlow), 75 of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 26, 1934 in Kingwood, West Virginia. She came to Lorain to make a home for her family in 1952.
Mrs. Brailer was a devoted mother and spouse. She loved to travel and being involved in church activities and fundraisers. She was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish at Saint John Church, Lorain. She was the president of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was a troop leader of Boy Scouts Troop 318.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years John A. Brailer of Lorain, daughters Sarah Cox, Carol Sue Brailer and Mary Kay (William J.) Park all of Lorain. and Donna (Joe) Scott of Pleasant Valley, New York, sons Alan (Marybeth), twins Joseph and James (Jennifer) Brailer all of Lorain, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Her mother Lucy M. Barlow and her brother Henry Barlow preceded in death.
Her family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164, where the Rosary will be prayed Monday evening at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be Tuesday with closing prayers at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, then Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Frances Cabrini Parish at Saint John Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain.
