Catherine C. Kuzniar , 97, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family and Friends

She was born in Jacob’s Creek, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Lorain for most of her life.
Katie was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, the Polish American Citizens Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Stitch-in-Time Card Club. She enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo and crocheting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and corresponding with them by writing and sending greeting cards. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the staff at Kingston of Vermilion where she resided for the past few years. The family thanks the nursing staff for their care and compassion during this time.
She is survived by her children Dolores Beko (Richard) of Lorain, Karen Armstrong (Richard) of New Baltimore, Michigan, Jerry Kuzniar (Aloha) of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Glenn Kuzniar (Cindy) of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren Cynthia Truskot (Tom), KayeLynn Astorino (Frank), Denise Smith (Conrad), John E. Kuzniar (Roxanne), Traci Armstrong (Stephen Cakebread), Melissa Hutcheon (Douglas), Eric Kuzniar, Matthew Kuzniar and Katie Kuzniar, 13 great grandchildren and sister Erma Reed (Russ) of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Kuzniar in 1965, infant daughter Linda Kuzniar, son Edward Kuzniar, grandson Brian Kuzniar, brothers John and Frank Duray and sisters Ann Roberto, Mary Richi, Margaret Rich, Amelia Cassidy and Julia Bombeck.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2 - 4, 6 - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West OFM Conv, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
