Anna K. Staysniak, 89, Enjoyed Knitting and Crocheting
Anna K. “Dolly” Staysniak, (nee Karamarkovich), age 89, of Elyria Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of Wednesday April 7, 2010 at the Lorain Specialty Hospital in Amherst, Ohio following a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1920 in Lorain, Ohio where she graduated from Lorain High School. She resided in Elyria Township with her husband and son from the fall of 1962 until the time of her death.
Mrs. Staysniak was employed as an assembler at Bendix Westinghouse Automotive Brake Division in Elyria for over thirty years. She retired in 1975. She was a long time member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria as well as a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Elyria VFW Post #1079. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and handicrafts. Additional interests included traveling, shopping, watching baseball, and spending time with her family.
One of three generations of parents and siblings who were married for 50 years or longer, Anna is survived by her husband of 67 years Leonard J. Staysniak and her son, Dennis A. Staysniak both of Elyria. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as an uncle, Michael Radick (92) residing in Palm Bay, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Helen (nee Radick) Karamarkovich and by a brother, Dr. Alex Karamarkovich.
Friends will be received Sunday April 11th from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be Monday April 12th at 11 a.m. The Reverend Dale Staysniak will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
