Samuel Adorno, 44, Still Life and Portrait Artist
Samuel Adorno, Jr., 44, of Elyria passed away Monday April 12, 2010 in the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born May 20, 1965 in Lorain. He has been a resident of Elyria since 2000.
After graduating from Southview High School in 1983 he joined the Army, He served until 1990. He earned the rank of Sergeant E-5. Mr. Adorno was working as a Financial Systems Annalist for the Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Services in Cleveland. He had worked there since 1993.
Sam was a still life and portrait artist. He enjoyed bicycling, animals and watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 8 years Denise Adorno (nee Bober) of Elyria, his parents Samuel and Iris (nee Rojas) Adorno of Lorain, His sisters Evelyn (Angel) Adorno-Torres of Louisville, Kentucky and Elizabeth (Miguel) Lugo of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Juan and Isolinas Rojas and Panteleon and Rosa Adorno.
His family will receive friends Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. His funeral services will be Monday with closing prayers at 8:45 a.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. The Rev., Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Where the Disabled American Veterans, Louis Paul Proy, Chapter 20, Lorain will conduct military honors.
