Salvatore Napoli, 75, Enjoyed Gardening
Salvatore Napoli, 75, of Lorain, died Wednesday April 21, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Dec. 25, 1934 in Militello Rosmarino, Sicily and had resided in Lorain since 1966.
Salvatore worked as a Line Mechanic for the city of Lorain Water Department from 1966-1999. He also owned and operated Lanza’s Pizza in Lorain from 1985-1996.
He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carmela Napoli (nee Lanza), son Philip Napoli (Gina) of Wheaton, Illinois and Benny Napoli of Middleburg Heights, grandchildren Alessandra and Francesca Napoli, both of Wheaton, IL and Samantha Napoli of Westlake, brother Antonio Napoli of Militello Rosmarino, Sicily and sister Francesca Bologna (Antonio) of Palermo, Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfredo and Benedetta Napoli (nee Cangemi) and brother Benedetto Napoli.
The family will receive friends Monday 6 - 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle OFM Conv, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
