Connie H. Christensen, 51, Medical Receptionist

She was born in Elyria on Jan. 22, 1959 and had been a resident of Sheffield Township for the past six years. Ms. Christensen had previously resided in both Lorain and Elyria.

Connie was a 1977 graduate of Elyria West High School and was inducted into the National Honor Society while a student there. She went on to receive certification as a medical assistant and was a member of the Association of Certified Medical Assistants. She was most recently employed as a medical receptionist for the practice of Keith Warner, M.D. in Elyria.

Connie was a very kind and caring person who always went above and beyond to take care of her family, friends, and patients. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, swimming, and possessed a love for all animals.

She is survived by her daughter Amanda M. Christensen at home, sister Darlene Shenefelt residing in Louisiana, brothers John of Kentucky and Glenn “Red Dog” of Elyria, one niece, two nephews and many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter L. and Margaret H. (nee Payne) Christensen, and brother Chris Christensen.

Friends may call Friday from 7 p.m. until time of funeral services at 8:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Preacher Ethan Longhenry, pastor of Church of Christ in Norwalk, will officiate. Private burial will take place in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
