Agatha M. Donges, 90, Enjoyed Cooking and Baking

She was born in Lorain on Feb. 1, 1920 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain County.

Agatha was a long time parishioner of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir. She was also a member of the K.S.K.J. Slovenian Fraternal Lodge as well as the Slovenian Women’s Union Lodge # 40.

Mrs. Donges was employed as a bus driver for the Amherst Exempted Village School District. She was previously employed as a seamstress for the Weitz Clothing Company of Lorain.

In her free time she enjoyed cooking and baking. Additional interests included ceramics and polka dancing.

She is survived daughters Lauren Fuqua of Lorain and Joan Hoffman of Mobile, Alabama, sons William E. Donges of Wellington and Craig F. Donges (Mary Ann) of Berlin Center, Ohio, grandchildren Elise Thanasouras, William Fuqua, Jason Fuqua, Samantha Donges, and John Donges, and great grandchildren Sophia and Alexis Thanasouras and Jake Fuqua.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Donges in 2001, by brothers Frank, Ernest, and Anthony Kerhin, and by sisters Anne Bock, Mary Bartholomew, and Jennie Darmafall.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning at 9 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Parish at St. John Church, Grove Avenue and Homewood Drive. The Reverend Thomas R Smith, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
