Ardythe R. Tomasek, 83, Enjoyed Visiting Amish Country

Ardythe R. Tomasek (nee Dearing), 83, of Lorain, died Saturday June 12, 2010 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria after a lengthy illness.

She was born October 9, 1926 in Elyria and had been a lifelong Lorain/Elyria resident.

Ardythe was a graduate of Lorain High School with the class of 1944B. Prior to her marriage she worked at Thew Shovel in Lorain. Later she worked as a teller and in the trust department at Central Security National Bank in Lorain retiring in 1976.

Ardythe was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lorain, the Queen City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lorain, Lakeland Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Towne Club dance group. She enjoyed visiting Amish Country.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Matotek (Jim) of Amherst Township and Cynthia Sprague (Gary) of Delaware, Ohio, grandchildren Melissa Matotek, Scott Matotek and Tim Sprague, great grandchildren Katherine Sprague, Alexander Sprague and Elena Cancar and sister Juanita Matson of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Milton Tomasek in 1992, parents Lee and Marie Dearing (nee Caywood), sister Dolores Direen and brother Leland Dearing.

Private family funeral services were held at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Beth McKee, chaplain of Wesleyan Village in Elyria, officiate. Burial was in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
