Walter A. Glick Sr., 91, Developer & Implementor of Special Projects

Walter A. Glick, Sr. 91, of Westlake passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Huntington Woods Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westlake.

Mr. Glick was born on November 17, 1918 in Lorain, the son of the late Walter J and Isabelle (nee Borthwick) Glick. He has lived in Lorain all his life.

He was a graduate of Lorain High School and attended Baldwin Wallace College.

Mr. Glick is a member of the Christian Temple Disciples of Christ and has served as an Elder Emeritus and Chairman of the Board. He also taught Sunday School and served as a church camp counselor. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 326, the Explorers and served as a scout camp counselor.

He was active with the Clearview School PTA and Rick & Glick Tours.

After 25 years service, Mr. Glick retired in 1986 as a developer and implementor of special projects with the former Lorain Products.

Mr. Glick is survived by his sons, Walter A. (Elaine) Glick, Jr of Lorain, Douglas (Celeste) Glick of Amherst, daughter Jane (Leland) Barnes Glick of Lorain, grandchildren Leland Barnes II, Scott Barnes, Reed Barnes, Sarah Glick Bolyard, Robert Barnes, Walter Eben Glick, Danielle Glick, Damian Glick, Dominique Glick, 9 great grandchildren and a sister Lillibeth Wood of Amherst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances E. (nee Holland) Glick on April 15, 1986, his second wife Myrtle Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Miller) Glick on January 24, 2007, sisters Noreen Davidson, Dorothy Schneider and a brother Jack Glick.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain from 10:00 am until Memorial Services at 11:00 am. The Rev. Dr. Bradley J. Donahue, pastor will officiate. Burial is in the Elmwood Cemetery, privately.
