Everett A. ''Ed'' Woolford Jr., 60, Avon Police Sergeant
Everett A. "Ed" Woolford, Jr, 60, of Lorain passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.Mr. Woolford was born in Lorain on November 21, 1949, the son of the late Everett A Woolford, Sr. and Elizabeth A. "Betty" Woolford (nee Tudich) who survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Lorain Admiral King and a U.S. Air Force veteran obtaining the rank of Sergeant in the Vietnam War.
He worked as a police sergeant in the Avon Police Department in Avon, Ohio with 22 years service.
Mr. Woolford was a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 451. He enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his mother, He is survived by a daughter Dana L. Woolford of Lorain, a sister Diane M. "Dee" Marsico of Elyria, and a nephew Dan M. Marsico of Willowick, Ohio.
Graveside services will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 @ 12:30 pm with full military honors by the Cemetery Honor Guard.
